- Description
- General: The National Park Service, Department of Interior, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. This electronic Request for Proposals will be issued approximately July 1, 2004. The solicitation will be available electronically on the Department of Interior (DOI), National Business Center (NBC) website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copies of this solicitation will be available. No phone requests will be accepted. Prospective Offerors must register on the NBC website to obtain a copy of this solicitation and to receive an electronic notification of any amendments. This service is provided for convenience only and does not serve as a guarantee of notification. Offerors are responsible for visiting this website periodically. No other notifications will be issued. The solicitation package will contain the price schedule, specifications, drawings and evaluation criteria for the selection of a contractor. Proposal documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML and Adobe PDF. The specifications and drawings will be available in Adobe PDF format. Proposed Issue Date: Approximately July 1, 2004. Title of Project: Rehabilitate Desert Inn and Cabins. Description: This project will implement recommendations of a Historic Structure Report to address building deterioration and to implement improvements to address deficiencies in life safety and accessibility at the Painted Desert Inn and cabins at Petrified Forest National Park. Major elements of work at both the Inn and cabins include new fire sprinkler and fire/intrusion alarm systems; replacement of electrical and plumbing systems; ADA accessibility; rehabilitation of all major building interior architectural elements; rehabilitation of building exterior architectural elements; and rehabilitation of flagstone terraces, walkways, and similar landscape elements. The vast majority of the work will involve the Inn with a lesser amount at the cabins. Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and price proposal. The Government will consider an offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price. Estimated price range is $1.5 million to $3.5 million. Time for completion: 360 calendar days. It is anticipated that the notice to proceed will be issued in either August or September 2004. The due date for the submission of proposals is approximate, the actual date will be established at the time proposal documents are available. This project is not set-aside; any firm may submit an offer.
