Description
This project will replace the existing Square D Sy/Max PLC processor and I/O system with a new automatic control system for control of the plating processes in Building 4035 (Plating Shop) at the Naval Air Depot. The new control system shall consist of Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation ControlLogix processors, remote Flex I/O, and RSView32 and RSLogix 5000 software. The control system shall provide, as a minimum, automatic control of plating tank process temperatures and levels, exhaust and scrubber fans, rectifers, make-up air units and auxiliary equipment. The PLCs shall be provided with hardware and software to perform the required automatic control functions. All required and listed inputs and outputs shall be provided and ladder logic developed to implement the control sequence of operations. The project will include demolition of the existing Sy/Max processor panel and all existing remote I/O cabinets located on the production floor. Also included is the removal and replacement of existing pneumatic temperature controllers and level switches. Differential pressure switches will be installed across all exhaust/scrubber/air washer fans to be used to interlock associated rectifiers and tank temperature controls. The project will also include relocating the existing power system wiring currently routed through the basement for rectifiers located on the production floor and incidental related work. Significant hazardous material disposal will be required as part of this project. Estimated Cost Range: Between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
