Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIE TIME. THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT IS PUBLISHED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The National Park Service is researching the availability of sources to provide non-invasive 3D laser scanning of fragile and unique prehistoric and historic archeological resources to produce geo-referenced, 3.0 cm-1.0 mm resolution digital organic models to be used for general management planning and visualization of the site/structure and associated elements in a 3D digital environment; the development of interpretive aids, i.e., digital video clips; to obtain accurate, basic metric data (measurements, areas, and volumes) from the digital models, and multiple types of analyses such as the intra and interspatial relationships of the site, features, and the immediate landscape. In addition to having the experience and equipment necessary to complete the 3D laser scanning, due to the unique nature of these fragile, non-renewable resources, the contractor should also be capable of providing qualified archeological staff with experience in archeological and architectural documentation, assessment, and digital cartography. Contractor must also be able to demonstrate the specific field methodologies and techniques to be used in order to mitigate potential site impacts and ensure the required precision and attribute information necessary to present the archeological/architectural data in complex database environments. Contractor may also be required to develop park specific end-products which may include incorporating existing data sets such as photographs, recordation forms, as well as utilizing other technologies (digital photography, RTK, GPS, and GPR). Sources capable of providing the units with ALL the requirements listed must submit product information and price lists to Trish Fresquez-Hernandez, National Park Service, P. O. Box 728, Santa Fe, NM 87504-0728 or trish_fresquez-hernandez@nps.gov no later than June 23, 2004.
