Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Reconstruction of Roads in Paint Creek Drainage ? Phase II (5+ Miles): From Paint Creek Camping Area to State Line @ Paint Rock. Forest Roads #31D, #41& #41P. Work includes 6 Special Rock Embankment Sections. In addition to the materials required in the SRE Sections other items required include 3788 ton riprap; 14,215 ton crushed aggregate; approach & guardrail work on 4 bridges; 388 feet of various sizes of metal drainage pipe; erosion and sediment control items; construction of 1500 feet of road relocation; reconditioning of roadbed; 12,345 ton of asphalt paving and signs. Special notes: All materials will have to be hauled into the site. A potential borrow pit site for earth embankment, on Government property, may be available within 2 miles of the project. There would be no guarantee as to quality or quantity of material. Water quality of the adjacent Paint Creek is an issue and concern which is addressed in the contract. There are weight restrictions on one bridge near the mid point of Paint Creek Road. ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE: Between $1 million and $5 million dollars. PROJECT LOCATION: Project is located on the Cherokee National Forest in Greene County, TN. SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS: The solicitation, IFB SAZ 04-04-25, and related documents will be issued via FedBizOpps as an Invitation for Bid and will be available for downloading on or about June 29, 2004 at the website address: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ . All vendors are required to register in the Central Contractor Registration database (CCR) prior to award of a Federal contract. Registration may be completed on the internet at http://www.ccr.gov/ . A handbook and other information are available at the site, including information on how to obtain a DUNS number, which is required to begin the registration process.
