DESC: The U.S. Department of Energy?s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis to the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK for the following work: STATEMENT OF WORK - INTRODUCTION: The Tulsa University Paraffin Deposition Project (TUPDP) is a non-profit, cooperative industry-university research venture in which contributing members pay an annual membership fee to partially support various areas of drilling research. TUPDP has provided an excellent opportunity for the industry to expand basic and applied paraffin deposition research in a cost effective and efficient manner. OBJECTIVES: (1) To continue to promote, for the common good of the industry, advancements in the characterization and modeling of paraffin deposition through basic and applied research. A TUPDP advisory board, consisting of fourteen members from industry, also serves to advise the University on topics beneficial to paraffin deposition research. The University of Tulsa has notable expertise in paraffin deposition research and has maintained this industry-university research venture in the past.
