Description
The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Puget Sound (FISCPS) is soliciting for the manufacture of four (4) each mounting rings for Fairwater #3 (aft end of intermediate strut) and four (4) each mounting rings for Fairwater #4 (forward end of main strut). Each mounting ring to be manufactured in accordance with its respective drawing. A copy of each drawing will be mailed upon request. The fairwaters are smooth curved covers that provide a smooth surface for the water to pass by when the ship is underway. They cover miscellaneous studs, nuts and lock wire that hold the shaft bearings in place and would otherwise create additional drag on the ship when underway. In addition to providing the mounting rings, the contractor shall provide complete material certifications to include verification of chemical and mechanical properties, weldability, and visual inspection per material specification. THE GOVERNMENT ANTICIPATES THAT FINAL NEGOTITATED PRICING WILL BE DETERMINED THROUGH AN ANONYMOUS, ON-LINE REVERSE AUCTION. Place of delivery is Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA. Delivery required on or before 1 November 2004. The commercial solicitation will be issued on or about 27 May 2004 with a closing date of 17 June 2004. Per FAR 5.203(h), the solicitation closing date has been reduced to 24 days from this announcement. When issued, the RFQ will be posted on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link www.neco.navy.mil. All offerors wishing to submit an offer are responsible for downloading their own copy of the RFQ from this website and to frequently monitor the site for any amendments to the RFQ. No telephone or fax requests for the RFQ package will be accepted. An email request to joshua_c_carter@puget.fisc.navy.mil will be accepted in the event an offeror experiences problems downloading the RFQ from the NECO website. Please do not call with questions regarding the posting of the solicitation on NECO until after the posting date, 27 May 2004. This office will maintain no bidder list. No paper copies of the RFQ / amendments will be mailed. Offerors should, though, submit an email request for the referenced drawings to the above mentioned email address. Failure to respond to the electronically posted RFQ and associated amendments prior to the date and time set for receipt of quotes may render your quote nonresponsive and result in rejection of the same. To be procured using commercial Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes is not available at this time.
