Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Contracts Division, Code 2.5.1.2, Webster Field St. Inigoes, Maryland intends to issue an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract with provisions for Firm-Fixed priced delivery orders for a period of one base year with four one year options with Lexel Imaging Systems, Inc., 1501 Newtown Pike, Lexington KY 40511 to fabricate Maintenance Assistance Modules (MAM) for the AN/SPN-46(V)3 Radar. The acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other services or supplies will satisfy the agency requirements. The modules will directly support the Navy?s all-weather aircraft carrier landing system, operator control consoles of the AN/SPN-46(V)3. Lexel Imaging System is the original equipment manufacturer of the AN/SPN?46(V)3 Radar, consoles and components including the (MAM), and is the only known source that possesses the documentation, tooling and requisite expertise to fabricate the maintenance modules for the complex radar system. It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded during fiscal year 2004. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and submit technical information and a technical capability statement in response to this notice. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Contracts, shall consider all responses. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. NOTE: Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) www.ccr.gov database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed contract, based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
