REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ? MARKET RESEARCH TECHNICAL CAPABILITY- QUESTIONNAIRE INSTRUCTIONS: The purpose of this request is to conduct additional market research for planning purposes. This is request for information only. It is not contractually binding. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the information provided, and will not pay for any costs associated with information collected. The intent of this questionnaire is to seek information from the marketplace, specifically with those that may have this type of expertise or ability ? with prescribed fire development. Please respond by 14 May 2004 with submission of the questionnaire information either by fax at 801-975-3483 or by mail to: Utah Procurement Center, Attn: L. Prescribed Fire - Market Research The Dixie National Forest is exploring the opportunity to contract approximately 1,000 acres of ponderosa pine under burn this fiscal year. The project area is west of Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah. The NEPA decision document may be found at http://www.fs.fed.us/dxnf/projects/eastfork/index.shtml. We are asking of information to create an effective project. Please Respond by 14 May 2004. Thank you for your time. 1. Has it been more effective to work off an agency completed burn plan or create one of your own that meets agency policy? 2. Are you familiar with the Forest Service Region R4 burn plan format? ( can be found at - http://www.blm.gov/utah/egbcc/trng_pub.htm) 3. Do your personnel meet the Forest Service Handbook qualifications listed in the FSH 5109.19 (http://fsweb.wo.fs.fed.us/directives/fsh/5109.19/) 4. What tips would you give a person writing a statement of work for a prescribed fire to make it more effective?
