Description

The scope of the project consists of the removal and disposal of existing asphalt-cement concrete roadway pavement, curb and gutter, fillets, drain pans, sidewalks and storm sewer system. Also included in the project will be grading work associated with rebuilding approximately 2,700ft of roadway with new base course, 8 1/2in. PCC pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer system, sidewalks and widening of approximately 1300ft of this roadway. The road width varies from 28ft to 48ft with 30in curb and gutter on each side. The project also includes sub-grade stabilization, utility adjustments, relocation of streetlights, seeding and striping. The project magnitude is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Project work is not in a restricted area. NAICS code (237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction) for this project falls under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. A subcontracting plan will be required if the award is over $1,000,000 or greater in accordance with FAR Part 19.702(a)(2) and if successful offeror is not a small business in accordance with FAR Part 19.702(b). Tentatively anticipate issuing solicitation on or about 19 May 2004 with a pre-bid site visit scheduled for 27 May 2004 at 1:00 PM in the Rushmore Center Conference Room, Ellsworth AFB, SD. Bids will be due 30 calendar days after issuance of solicitation and all work to be completed within 365 calendar days after issuance of notice to proceed.
