- The National Cancer Institute (NCI) on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Strokes (NINDS), Clinical Neurocardiology Section is soliciting for the services of an internal medicine doctor. The requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR Part 12. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 621111 and the business size standard is $8.5M. The period of performance is a base year with one (1), one (1) year option period. The internal medicine doctor shall assist with the mission of the Clinical Neurocardiology Section to carry out patient-oriented clinical research on neurocardiologic disorders. Current and planned clinical research protocols of the Section entail comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and management of inpatients and outpatients with sometimes complex and difficult multisystem disorders. Conducting the protocols requires physicians with experience and expertise in relevant areas of internal medicine. The general work includes medical histories, physical examinations, medical chart entries, obtaining consent, dictation for medical records, orders for drugs and test, retrievals from the medical information system, and clinical data recording and entry. The work also includes specialized Neurocardiologic procedures and drug administrations, as called for under Section protocols. The internal medicine doctor must provide proof of completion of internal medicine residency at a U.S. School of Medicine; current medical license to practice internal medicine; proof of board certification or board eligibility in internal medicine and knowledge of autonomic nervous systems functions.
