- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard requires a contractor fully qualified to provide storage, protection from the elements, transportation, slings and hoisting gear, and delivery of US Coast Guard construction materials to US Coast Guard Lighthouse Cape Spencer, Alaska. One method used successfully in the past has been to move the materials from Juneau, Alaska by watercraft/barge and off load the materials to the dock at Cape Spencer Lighthouse by use of helicopter, by sling loading bundles of materials under the helicopter for transport. US Coast Guard personnel or representatives will deliver materials to the contractors site in Juneau, Alaska for storage, preparation/protection for ocean transport and helicopter sling operations within the time frame of 06 July to 16 July, 2004. Contractor will provide any unloading of materials at contractors site. Materials must be securely offloaded to the dock at Cape Spencer Lighthouse no later than 02 August 2004. Materials must be wrapped with tarps/plastic to prevent damage from wind, rain or salt water. Coast Guard personnel will not be on hand for any of the transport or offloading helicopter operations. All required personnel and equipment are to be provided by the contractor. Upon successful delivery of materials, contractor must contact the contracting officer. Materials list: 1. Eight, (8), bundled loads of materials not to exceed 1500 pounds per bundle. Bundles will be banded for handling and delivery to contractors site. Any other packaging or banding for ocean shipment and helicopter operations is to be provided by contractor. 2. One, (1), Pallet drinking water, approx 800 pounds 3. Two, (2), 55-gallon drums of unleaded gasoline, approx 800 pounds 4. One, (1), Generator, portable, electric, approx 200 pounds 5. One, (1), Tool box, approx 250 pounds Provide helicopter transport of US Coast Guard personnel to and from US Coast Guard Lighthouse Cape Spencer within the time frame of 02 August 2004 through 15 September 2004. Estimated 12 trips (6 round trips) to transport four, (4) persons per trip. Coast Guard will provide 24 hours notice prior to each trip as the need arises.
