- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to enter into negotiations for a firm fixed price contract on an Other Than Full and Open Competition basis to Litton Systems, Inc., Guidance and Control, 5500 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills, CA 91367 for a quantity of 12 each LN-200 Inertial Measurement Units (IMU), part number 311875-IN42. These IMUs are the only ones that meet the government?s minimum IDAP II IMU requirements. The IMU requirements are as follows: Physical size: The LAU-127 launcher has a 3.8? access opening that the IDAP II must fit in. This limits the size of the IMU diameter to 3.75? for a cylindrical unit, or 3.75? diagonal for a cubical shaped unit. In order to accommodate the other components of the IDAP II, the lengthwise dimension of the IMU must be less than 4.00?. The IMU must weigh less than 2 pounds. Characteristics: To record the necessary data, the IMU must have 3 orthogonal rate gyros, and 3 orthogonal accelerometers. The misalignment of the gyros and accelerometers must be less than 1 milliradian. The accelerometers must be able to measure 35G peak acceleration, and 15 GRMS random vibration. The gyros must have a closed loop bandwidth of 1 kHz or greater, with a data sample rate of 2 kHz or greater. The gyros must be able to measure 900 deg/sec., and have a drift rate no more than 1 deg/hour. The IMU must maintain compatibility with the existing IDAP hardware interface and message format. Power requirements: The IMU must operate from +5V DC supplies, and use less than 20 Watts. Operating environment: The IMU must operate in a temperature range of ?40C to +70C, and altitude range from sea level to 100,000 feet. Electromagnetic Radiation: The IMU must meet the requirements listed in MIL-STD 461E, Table V, for Aircraft, Navy. Delivery is FOB Destination to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake, CA 6 months after receipt of order. Award will be issued under the authority of the test program for commercial items (FAR 13.5).
