Description
Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is seeking companies that have the capability to perform off-sight, heat treatment on Skate Mount Tracks. This treatment supports a multi-mission industrial base recognized for heavy combat vehicle expertise and weapons. T his service is necessary to augment the Cleaning and Finishing Division for the Directorate of Production. Skate Mount Tracks will be treated in accordance with AMS 2753, Liquid Salt Bath Ferritic Nitrocarburizing (Non-Cyanide Bath) with the exception tha t the process used shall be the gaseous ferritic nitrocarburizing type. The compound layer thickness shall be 0.0002 plus 0, minus 0.001 and the compound layer hardness shall be 460 HK minimum (100g Test Load), or equivalent. The items shall be shipped mo nthly from ANAD to the vendor facility and shall be returned to the government in full compliance with all specifications within 30 days from the date of receipt at the Contractor facility. Since the process will require storage and treatment of Governmen t material and as such, will require a Property Control Plan, as a minimum. The Contractor shall provide all labor, parts, tools, equipment and plant materials to perform the heat treatment process in accordance with all Government and industry standards, drawings, and quality provisions. In addition, the vendor shall be ISO 9001-2002 certified, as a minimum. Anniston Army Depot is open to any efficient, economical approach to this procurement. Interested companies are requested to: 1) request if they require digital photos of the items required to be treated; and 2) provide a synopsis of 5 pages or less describing similar projects they have successfully performed not later than 10 calendar days after synopsis appears in the CBD.
