Description

The Naval Air Systems Command, Aircraft Division, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with John Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory, 11100 John Hopkins Road, Laurel, MD 20723 for the procurement of Wrap Around Simulation Program (WASP) software. This software will support real-time simulation of the Federal Aviation Agency Air surveillance Radar, other Government radars and the HDTV Sensor System, as well as the software for the display of this and previously supplied simulations for the Radar Surveillance and Assimilation Network (RSAN) hardware. This computer software supports the hardware purchased from JHU/APL. As the JHU/APL built the WASP, on which this simulation will be run, and have developed other simulations of these radars, they are uniquely qualified to develop the software required for RSAN. RSAN is scheduled to be integrated with FAA radar by November 2004 and this is the only source, which can develop the simulations in time to meet that date. The total estimated dollar amount for procurement of the software is $485,000 over a two-year period. Note 22 Applies.
