- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia intends to award a cost-reimbursement plus fixed fee type contract to a qualified offeror(s) for a project entitled Seroconverter Specimen Panels for Validation of Incidence Assays. The contractor will provide all services necessary for the collection and delivery of serum specimens suitable for the validation of assays for distinguishing recent from longstanding infection with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). Suitable panels may include specimens from persons with all known viral subtypes of HIV-1; however, the contractor(s) should focus on acquiring samples of HIV-1 subtype B. HIV-1 subtype C or a combination of both of these subtypes. The contractor(s) shall develop a mechanism for identifying persons who have recently become infected with HIV-1 and obtain and deliver specimen sets from persons identified as having recently seroconverted to HIV-1 to the CDC storage facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The date specified for receipt of offers will be approximately 30 days after the solicitation issue date, on or about June 22, 2004. The performance period under this contract will be 36 months from date of contract award. The NAICS code is 541710 and all responsible offerors may submit a proposal that will be considered by the agency. See Numbered Note 26. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be made available; however, the solicitation will be available for retrieval at www.fedbizopps.gov, on or about May 19, 2004. It will be the responsibility of individual offerors to monitor the above website for additional postings regarding this solicitation. Telephonic/facsimile requests will not be accepted.
