- Description
- The Department of Health and Human Service, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, through Program Support Center plan to award a sole source Simplified firm fix price acquisition to the William H. Sowers, M.A., 10031 Shelldrake Circle, Damascus, Maryland, 20872. The Period of Performance is anticipate to be from date of award 12 months. The purpose of this acquisition is to obtain an Workplace Prevention Specialist (WPS) for the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP), Workplace Helpline. The Contractor shall work part-time, anticipated on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of each week, not to exceed 24 hours/week and under no circumstances would the total hours exceed 40 hours/week. The Workplace Help line is a unique federal resource that provides valuable services at no cost to the inquirer, focused on confidential technical assistance and consultation on how to address alcohol and substance abuse prevention and related problems in the workplace to employers, union official and community-based substance abuse prevention program. In addition to the free consultation the Workplace Help line provides callers with access to workplace prevention publications, videos and other printed materials, as well as information on where they may find follow-up assistance closer to their business location. The Workplace Help line provides in-person program consultation and training to business in the Metropolitan Washington DC area at no cost them. The Contractor shall be able to consult on the phone, by email, and in person, combined with training development and delivery in a manner that demonstrates expert knowledge, skill and ability in carrying out the WPS duties. Mr. Sowers possesses the knowledge, skills and abilities to carry out these duties and responsibilities in a manner not available elsewhere. The Proposed Simplified Acquisition Action Is for Supplies and Services for Which the Government Intends to Solicit and Negotiate with Only One Source under Authority of Far 6.302. Interested Persons May Identify Their Interest and Capability to Respond to the Requirement or Submit Proposals Within 10 Days after the Date of Publication of the Notice. A Determination by the Government Not to Compete this Proposed Simplified Acquisitions Based upon Responses to this Notice Is Solely Within the Discretion of the Government. Information Received Will Normally Be Considered Solely for the Purpose of Determining Whether to Conduct a Competitive Procurement. No Solicitation is available.
