Description

The purpose of this modification is to distribute the questions and answers from the Site Visit 8 Apr 04. Solicitation number FA4600-04-B-0005 is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). 1. Do you want the elevator work brought up to 2000 code? Answer: Yes. Identify work required for 2000 code. 2. Fire alarm system, page 16000-7, only one remains in the existing system. Can the elevator's fire alarm system be independent? This is industry standard. Answer: Install as specified in design documents as part of the existing system. 3. What work is required in the elevator sump area? Answer: Install a non-flammable sump pump cover. 4. We received plans and specifications at the prebid walkthrough dated June 1996. Have or were there any addendums that are out or should have accompanied the plans and specs that were handed out at the walkthrough? Answer: No. The items in the 1996 addendum were incorporated into the project prior to advertisement in April 2004. 5. Where and when are the bid proposals due? Answer: Per the solicitation, bid opening will be 19 May 04, 2:00 PM local time in the 55th Contracting Squadron, Small Conference Room, Room 259. 6. The performance period is 90 days. Industry standard on project like this would be: 2-3 weeks for drawings if required, 8-10 weeks for materials plus the installation time? Answer: The government feels 90 days is sufficient. The bid opening remains as indicated in the solicitation. Contractors are advised to monitor this website for any updates and/or changes. All potential bidders must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) as prescribed in DFARS 252.2004-7004 prior to award. If not already registered in CCR, go to www.ccr.gov to register prior to submitting a bid. The contactor shall also ensure their CCR reflects the NAICS Code indicated for this solicitation.
