Description
Under the Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care Resources Sharing Authority in Title 38 United States Code Sections 8151-8153, VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) is soliciting to share a Sharing Partner-owned, Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) whole body, gantry scanning unit. This unit will provide a minimum requirement of 16 slice capability. The Sharing Partner will be responsible for providing all labor, tools, equipment and supervision necessary for the build-out of the VAPAHCS space, installation of the contractor-owned PET/CT unit, and maintenance of the unit, in exchange for the present PET unit and VAPAHCS-provided services described below. The Sharing Partner will provide adequate technician training for the proper operation of the PET/CT unit. The Sharing Partner will provide all supplies for their patients, including imaging supplies. VAPAHCS, in exchange for the free use of the unit for VAPAHCS patients, and a negotiated fee-per-scan for Sharing Partner patients, will provide the technicians to operate the PET/CT scanner unit, and the physicians to read and interpret the scans. VAPAHCS will provide all supplies for their patients, including imaging supplies. VAPAHCS will provide the necessary radiopharmaceuticals for their veteran patients, and the Sharing Partner will provide their own radiopharmaceuticals for their patients. This sharing agreement will be for a base period of five years, with the option to renew for an additional five year period available. This BOS announcement/solicitation is solicited unrestricted and constitutes the only bid document that will be issued. It is the intent of VAPAHCS to enter into a sharing agreement with the Sharing Partner whose proposal provides the most value to the government.
