Description

The VA VISN 22 Network Business Center intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with Thermo Finnigan, 5225 Verona Road, Madison, WI 53711. VA San Diego Healthcare has a requirement on the following equipment, Mass Spectrometer Model TSQ 7000, Varian Gas Chromatograph Model 3000 and Liquid Chromatograph Model LCQ. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Thermo Finnigan is the original equipment manufacturer and exclusive service corporation for all their spectrometers and Chromatograph. There is no other company certified to ensure the equipment will continue to maintain the original specifications for the Thermo Finnigan System. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All proposals received by 4:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time, May 28, 2004 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquires will only be accepted by facsimile at (562) 961-1378.
