- Sources Sought Synopsis The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking information on sources that can provide 1-way and 2-way Paging Service for SSA personnel in Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC, Falls Church, VA, and surrounding areas. Monthly service fee must include all necessary resources such as transmitters, pagers and support accessories, air time, 24-hour toll-free access telephone numbers for all pagers, and 24-hour toll-free operator dispatch numbers for 1-way pagers. Service must offer choices of Nationwide Alphanumeric, Nationwide Numeric, Local Alphanumeric, Local Numeric, and International type of pagers. It is anticipated that the number of pagers in use at any given time could exceed 2,000. At a minimum, all pagers must provide: Capacity of 30 messages with memory full notification when memory capacity has been reached; Operation on one single AA or AAA battery; Audible and vibrating alert modes; Back-light for easy viewing in low-light conditions; Low battery alert; Overflow notification to notify user of when the number of unread messages is greater than the available message memory; Duplicate notification when the same message is received more than once; Locking battery door; Durable belt clip; Reminder notification to notify user when unread message is stored in memory; Ability to lock message for storage in memory; 24-hour time and date function; and Sequential numbering time and date stamp of each new message received by user. At a minimum, 2-way pagers must provide: Ability to write, send and receive messages; PC-style keypad with numeric and symbol functions; Ability to store messages and address book entries; Automatic signature capability; Message preview and management; Mailboxes (Personal and Informational); Ability to save messages when off or changing battery; and Confirmed message delivery. Vendors capable of providing the pager services are invited to submit information that includes product literature, company experience on accounts of similar size, customer references (names, telephone numbers, and contract numbers), and GSA or commercial prices. When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to PAGER SERVICE. Written responses should be submitted to the address cited above by SSA's close of business on February 27, 2004. The Government does not intend to pay for information received and does not intend to provide evaluation results to the sender. Instead, the knowledge obtained from information submitted will be factored into subsequent procurement set-aside determinations and/or solicitation requirements.
