- Description
- This notice is for informational purposes only. The Coast Guard is seeking potential sources who may have new marine telescopic cranes to replace the existing Appletonmarine cranes, model: SEB1.8-18-18, 1750 lb capacity at 18 ft of reach on 110WPB series boats, with a new upgraded crane to handle the CB-M H540 between storage and loading positions, w/o personnel, and launch and retrieve the fully loaded boat from the loading position. The units shall be fully assembled and shop tested, meeting the ABS requirements for Type approval, and meeting the shop testing requirements of SNAME T&R Bulletin 3-39, Guide for Shop and Installation Tests, as a minimum. An outline specification of the new crane is stated below. -- Outline Specification: Design Load (Minimum):2500 Lbs, --Actual Lifting Capacity (minimum): 3610 Lbs --Radius/ Boom Length: 20 ft Boom out reach 11 ft retracted and 20 ft extended--Swing/ Rpm: 360 Degree continuous rotation at 6 Degree per sec speed -- Luffing, Topping Speed: 0 to 5 Degree per sec-- Boom Working Angle: 10 Degree below Horizontal to 75 Degree above Horizontal-- Telescopic System Extend Speed: 0 to 15 ft per min?Pedestal: 26? Dia Steel column bolted to AL foundation on main deck-- Hoisting Winch Line Pull: 3610 Lbs @ 50 ft per minute -- Winch Wire Rope: Steel 6x37 IPS IWRC with swaged socket -- Winch Hook: Cranston Eagle type with swivel or Equal -- Motor Controller: Marine duty combination AC Starter induction motor with non-fusible disconnect switch, start/stop push button, control power transformer, NEMA 3R drip-proof steel enclosure (Below deck installation). Remote start/stop. Control power to pendant. Junction box pendant to valves and anti two block with alarm. -- Electric Motor: AC induction motor 1.15 service factor, NEMA B design, 440V, 3 Phase, 60 Hz @ 1800 rpm, single end hydraulic pump mount (Below deck Steering Compartment installation)--Hydraulic Pump: Variable displacement, pressure compensated, axial piston type bolted to the electric motor pump mount flange, driven by electric motor through gear type coupling. Option to add services on the crane HPU. (Below deck Steering Compartment installation) -- Hydraulic Reservoir: Stainless steel located in the Steering Compartment, capacity as needed -- Control Station (Pendant): Portable remote control station (Pendant) shall be located on the main deck where it will be exposed to the weather and water when in use. The pendant shall be stored in the interior of the cutter when not in use. The pendant and its fittings shall be watertight. Watertight caps and sealed connections are required for when the pendant is not in use -- Hydraulic Control Valve Manifold: Remote operated, below deck in Engine room or Aft berthing compartment. Valves shall have provisions for manual over rides-- Manufacturing Standard: SOLAS ILSA Code, IMO-982E --Operating Conditions Sea State: 5 -- Sea Water Temperature: 28 Degree to 85 Degree -- Air Temperature: -40 Degree to 105 Degree F with Icing on surfaces. -- Wind and Rain Velocity: 100 mph -- Trim: 5 Degree -- List: 15 Degree -- Roll: 60 Degree -- Pitch: 15 Degree. -- The Coast Guard is requiring all offers to furnish descriptive literature which can show that their product will meet or exceed the requirement as listed above. Literature is required on or before 27 April 2004.
