- Description: The Government will host 40mm Ammunition Industry Day III on 19-20 May 2004. Tentative areas for discussion include: Solicitation presentation, TDP Information Review, Performance Based Payments, Electronic Invoicing 'Wide Area Work Flow', Legal conside rations/Q&A; SBA considerations/Q&A; What is LAP, and, Government approach/strategy/timelines. Additionally, during Industry Day III, time will be allowed for industry to brief on potential individual contributions to Joint Ventures, or other business arr angements; and, for Industry to conduct one on one meetings with the Government. Businesses that desire to have specific topics addressed, or brief at Industry Day, shall submit (1) Name of Company-include a contact person's name, telephone number and ema il address; and/or (2) the topics to be addressed. Tentative agenda will be provided in a future announcement. This announcement is to confirm Small Business interest in 40MM family of ammunition systems procurement. THE NAICS CODE FOR THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS 332993, 'AMMUNITION (EXCEPT SMALL ARMS) MANUFACTURING'. THE SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD IS 1,500 EMPLOYEES. This announcement is to continue to support Market Research performed by the United States Army Joint Munitions Command to determine Small Business interest in 40mm ammunition production, as an end item manufacturer for the family of cartridges, for Fisc al Years 2005 through 2009. The cartridge end item consists of all components and includes Load, Assembly and Pack. The family of 40mm ammunition consists of M385A1 Practice Cartridge, NSN: 1310-01-316-9973, 1310-01-361-9039; M430A1 High Explosive Dual P urpose Cartridge, NSN: 1310-01-419-8203,1310-01-419-9285, 1310-01-354-8745; M433 High Explosive Dual Purpose Cartridge, NSN: 1310-00-992-0451; M583 White Star Parachute Cartridge, NSN: 1310-00-159-3198; M781 Practice Cartridge, NSN: 1310-01-211-8073; and, M918 Target Practice Cartridge, NSN: 1310-01-317-5948. Joint Ventures, as defined in FAR 19.101(7)(i), or other business arrangements, are an acceptable approach and are encouraged. Interested Small Businesses shall provide the Government with information as follows: (1) Name of Company-include a contact pers on's name, telephone number and email address; (2) Company Address; (3) Company Size (please specify as either Small, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Woman-Owned Small Business, Historically Underutilized Business Zone concern, Veteran-Owned Small Business, or Service-Disabled Small Business; (4) Identify whether you are interested in this acquisition as a prime contractor or subcontractor. NOTE: 1. Under certain teaming arrangements, the individual small businesses must meet the size standard instead of using the combined total of employees of all small businesses on the team. 2. The Government is directing certain work to be performed by specific contractors, such as at Government ammunition plants. Any of this directed work is excluded from the total work w hen determining limitations on subcontracting percentages. 3. To qualify as a small business entity all the team members must be a small business. One exception is mentor-protege, which does permit large business participation on the team. This announc ement is for INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This announcement does NOT constitute a Request for Proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement . Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. Technical data packages will be made available at this time for review, NOT for distribution. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. This announcement does not restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government reserves the right to consider acquisition strategies as deemed appropriate.
