Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis a contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Coherent Laser Group, 1251 S. Gaylord Street, Denver CO 80210 for a continuous wave, high power (>+6W), single-frequency, narrow linewidth, 532 nm wavelength laser. The applications for this laser are (1) pumping a femtosecond mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser and (2) performing Raman spectroscopy. Efficient pumping of the Ti:Sapphire laser requires that the pump laser beam has a TEM00 output mode with M2<1.1. In order to achieve stable mode locking from the femtosecond mode-locked Ti:Sapphire laser, the 532 nm pump laser must have low noise. The requirements for this are a power stability of better than 1% and overall noise of less than 0.05% measured over a frequency range of 10 Hz- 1 GHz. Spectroscopy applications require single-frequency (i.e. single-longitudinal-mode) operation. ***This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Under $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information purposes only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Questions should be submitted in writing to the contracting officer either by fax or email. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.Terms and Conditions and agency level protest procedures can be found on web site http://oamweb.osec.doc.gov/conops/#REFERENCE. Agency level protest procedures can be found on web site http://oamweb.osec.doc.gov/conops/#REFERENCE. The Mountain Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). No award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR please access the following web site: http://www.ccr.gov.
