- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard will not set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only, do to lack of competition. Therefore this is out for full and open competition The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611 and the SIC is 3731. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC BUCKTHORN (WLI-624), a 100 Foot Inlet Buoy Tender, homeported in Saulte Ste. Marie, MI. This is geographically restricted to the Great Lakes. All work will be performed at contractors facility. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date of 19 July 2004. This work will include, but is not limited to., (1) WELDING REPAIRS(2) REMOVE, INSPECT, AND REINSTALL PROPULLAR SHAFTS (3) RENEW SHAFT COVERING (4) STRAIGHTEN SHAFT (5) RENEW WATER-LUBRICATED SHAFT BEARINGS (6) RENEW PROPELLER SHAFT SLEEVES (7) REMOVE, INSPECT, AND REINSTALL PROPELLERS (8) PERFORM MINOR REPAIRS AND RECONDITIONING OF PROPELLER (9) CLEAN, INSPECT, AND TEST GRID COOLER (10) CLEAN SSDG EXHAUST STACK UPTAKE (10AA) RENEW BOTH MUFFLERS (11) OVERHAUL AND RENEW VALVES (12) INSPECT AND TEST AIR RECEIVERS AND RELIEF VALVES. (13) REMOVE, INSPECT, AND REINSTALL RUDDER ASSEMBLIES (14) PRESERVE UNDERWATER BODY (15) PRESERVE BUOY DECK (16) PROVIDE TEMPORARY MESSING (16AA) PROVIDE TEMPORARY BERTHING (17) PROVIDE TEMPORARY LOGISTICS(18) ROUTINE DRYDOCKING(19) INSTALL AND RENEW SCUTTLES(20) INSTALL CO AND XO STATE ROOM AIRPORTS(21) RENEW STARBOARD GOOSENECK RISER(22) INSTALL AFT STEERING INSULATION (C )Travel and Per Diem Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. . All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g. *.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.) Drawings are also still available in hard copy. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. The proposed contract listed here is set aside for small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 08 April 2004.
