The Items listed for storage are repair parts for an operational unit in the Great Lakes region and must be maintained in an operational condition to minimize down time of the unit. This requires accessibility for maintenance contractors to service the items stored on an annual basis as well as shipping of the required items in a relatively short time period. Items to be stored: 1. Rotor line assembly, Cage-code S3370, part numbers 501 (Starboard) and 502 (Port) Two containers: Size: 6510*2220*2220 mm Weight: 23500 kg,(21' 4.3" L x 7' 3.4" W x 7' 3.4" H at 52,000 lbs). 2. Thrust bearing assembly, Cage-code S0515, part number 510, Two containers: Size: 1300*1300*880 mm Weight: 2800 kg (4' 3.2" L x 4' 3.2" W x 3' 10.6" H at 6173 lbs). 3. Propeller bearing assembly, Cage-code S0515, part number 520, Two containers: Size: 1110*1110*530 mm Weight: 1275 kg, (4' 7.7" L x 4' 7.7" W x 2' 8.9" H at 2811 lbs). 4. STORAGE REQUIREMENTS: Several of the items require strict environmental controls for long-term storage. All other items require standard storage conditions. In an effort to maintain a single stocking point for all of the listed items, the Coast Guard is interested in storage at the same facility for all items. Specific requirements are as follows: Items (1) & (5) above require the following environmental conditions during storage: a. Minimum temperature of 15 C (59 Fahrenheit). b. Maximum allowed temperature fluctuation is 3 C in 48 hours (37.4 F in 48 hours). c. Maximum relative air humidity of 60%. The storage must have air conditioning if relative air humidity is over 60%. d. Storage space must be clean and free of dust. Contamination of components may lead to major decrease of service life. e. Storage should be free from excessive airflow. f. Vibration levels above 0,5 mm/s (0.01968 inch/s) should be avoided. Item (7) above requires the following environmental conditions during storage: a. Propeller is packed to a wooden crate. b. Other packages are not allowed to stack on top of the crate. c. The crate must be kept away from direct rain. d. No special requirements for temperature, air humidity or vibration levels. COAST GUARD AND CONTRACTOR ACCESS: The Coast Guard will require access to the storage facility to verify inventory and condition of items. Coast Guard visits to the facility must be allowed with less than twenty-four hours advanced notice. The Coast Guard will require admittance of a maintenance contractor to the facility on an annual basis. Maintenance visits will be planned and 30 days advanced notice will be given. Maintenance will be conducted on site and access to weight handling equipment may be necessary to complete the necessary maintenance. The contractor access required annually is as follows: Items (1) & (7) above require the following Maintenance during storage: a. A contractor must open the crate and plastic package once a year for inspection. b. A contractor must at the same time the crate is opened rotate item (1) rotor line assembly 450 degrees. SHIPPING AND RECEIVING: The items being stored are emergency repair parts for an operational unit on the Great Lakes. The ability to ship out the needed items within five working days of notification is mandatory. The method of notification will be detailed in a statement of work. Concerns that are interested in responding to this notice may contact Carol Dreszer, Phone (410) 762-6492, Fax (410) 762-6270, or via e-mail: cdreszer@elcbalt.uscg.mil. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
