Description
POC: Marilyn Hutchison, U.S. Geological Survey, Central Region, Box 25046, MS 204B, Denver, CO 80225, Fax: (303) 236-2710, email: mhutchi@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), National Earthquake Information Center (NEIC), has a requirement to produce enhancements to the NEIC processing system, which includes real-time data acquisition from global and local seismic sensors, automatic detections and characterization of seismic events, storage of event data into an Oracle(r) DBMS, and web- and GUI-based tools for human interaction. The USGS NEIC staff requires assistance in developing the enhanced NEIC processing system. The following qualifications are considered essential to this requirement: 1) Experience in developing seismic data analysis systems; 2) Programming experience in C, C++, and Microsoft Foundation Class; 3) Experience in designing and implementing Graphical User Interface (GUI) using WIN32; 4) Ability to understand and analyze system requirements, and make design recommendations; and 5) Strong analytical and software development skills; 6) Experience in scientific programming, with background in science and mathematics; and 7) Knowledge and experience working with NEIC system architecture. In addition, contractor shall be required to periodically attend design meeting at the USGS NEIC in Golden, Colorado. Performance period shall be from date of award through September 30, 2004. Interested parties may request a copy of the RFQ, either by U.S. mail, email, or fax. Telephone requests for the RFQ will not be accepted. The request must contain the RFQ number, the requester?s name, complete street address, telephone, fax, and email (if available). It is anticipated that the RFQ, No. 04CRQQ0098, will be available on or after April 12, 2004. This is a small business set-aside. See Note 1.
