Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 03 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR Cryogenic Refrigerator System. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to address the following questions: 1) What size is the cryostat? The size of the cryostat - must fit through a 6.0 inch diameter tube with an 8-inch diameter conflat flange. Total length from adapter flange to 2nd stage must be no longer than 16 inches. 2) Do you want this to be top loading? Must be capable of mounting Horizontally in vacuum chamber. 3) Could water cooling be considered? If not, could a re-circulation chiller be added to the scope so that air cooling is achieved by said chiller? Must be air cooled, no physical space available for an additional chiller. 4) What is the crogenic refrigerator system used for? What type of application? Refrigerator is used to cool a vacuum chamber shroud to less than 7 Kelvin for deep space radiation simulation. It may also be used for condensing helium to evaluate two phase cooling loops. 5) Can you direct to drawing similar? None. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to March 26, 2004. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on March 26, 2004. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
