- Description
- This project will consist of asphalt surfacing, ditch and shoulder rehabilitation on 24.875 kilometers of roadway for CA PFH 93-1(1), Cecilville-Callahan, in Klamath National Forest, Siskiyou County, State of California. Estimated price range is between $4,000,000 and $8,000,000. Principal work items: template control staking, 30.000 km; contractor testing, lump sum; silt fence, 5,000 m; watering for dust control, 10,000 m3; removal of bridge railing and approach railing, lump sum; subexcavation, 3,500 m3; shouldering and minor embankment, 25 km; placed riprap class 3, 225 m3; road reconditioning, pulverize 150 mm depth, 30.000 km; roadway aggregate, method 1, 7,600 m3; hot asphalt concrete pavement class b, grading C or E, type 2 pavement smoothness, 38,600 metric tons; asphalt cement grade PBA-6a, 2,120 metric tons; antistrip additive type 3, 386 metric tons; materials transfer vehicle, lump sum; minor hot asphalt concrete, 686 metric tons; prime coat grade MC-70, SC-70 or alternate, 314 metric tons; blotter, 1,700 metric tons; steel bridge railing, W-beam, 90 m; geocomposite underdrain system, 500 m; bridge transition railing, 46 m; pavement markings type A, 3,870 L; flagger, 3,800 hours; pilot car, 1,400 hours, along with associated surveying, staking and traffic control devices. The following applies only to Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontractor at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000 with interest at prime rate, as published daily in the Wall Street Journal, plus 1.75 percent.
