Description
The National Oceanic & Atmospheric Admin.(NOAA)has a requirement for high power RF switches with long life vacuum switch. The required specifications for the high power switch include 350 watt average power handling capability, greater than 15 dB isolation, maximum of 0.1 dB insertion loss, 7/16 DIN type long neck female connector and a vacuum relay activated, rated for 5 million switching cycles. The switch needs to be a reliable switch with high isolation, low insertion loss, and possess a long mean-time between failure. We have built a production prototype using these switches and now will need to build a network of profilers for the U.S. Air Force identical to the prototype. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with Dow Key Microwave Corp. of Ventura, CA. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. No award will be made on the basis of requests in response to this notice. Terms & Conditions and agency level protest procedures can be found on web site http://oamweb.osec.doc.gov/conops/#REFERENCE. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement. These are the complete specifications and no RFQ is available. All technical questions shall be addressed to Tom Ayers of NOAA at 303 497-6012.. This RFQ will expire APRIL 2, 2004.
