Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial repair services with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N62794076051 applies and is issued as a request for quotes. This solicitation request is for the following services: Repair and testing of JP-5 fill & transfer manifold globe valves, 5? size, onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Va. A total of five (5) manifold globe valves are to be repaired and tested. The manifolds will be removed from the ships propulsion plant spaces by Norfolk Naval Shipyard personnel and turned over to the contractor for repair work. Upon completion of repairs, the contractor will be required to turn the manifolds back ove r to Norfolk Naval Shipyard for reinstallation. Tentative start date is 03 May,2004 with completion on or before 06 August ,2004. Work scope to be performed includes disassembly, visual inspection, initial /final blue checks of seating, light machining/lapping of seat/disk (as required), cleaning and inspection of all components, re-assembly to achieve seat and joint integrity, and provide objective quality documentation ( digital photographs and reports ). NOTES: 1) Contractor's personnel must have a minimum-security clearance of Confidential in order to work onboard Navy Aircraft Carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). 2) Bid proposals to accomplish open, inspect, repair, and testing work noted above must be a FIRM-FIXED PRICE BID. 3) Work is to be accomplished at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard located in Portsmouth, VA. 4) Bid proposals are to be submitted to Ron Joyner, Mate rial Procurement Specialist, Phone: (757)-967-6234 (Voice); (757)-967-6235 (Fax); email: joynerrc@supship.navy.mil or Teresa Corse, Contracting Officer, Phone: (757)-967-6217 (Voice); (757)-967-6224 (Fax); email: corseta@supship.navy.mil. 5) Technical point of contact for the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) regarding this solicitation announcement is EMC Rick Stein, Cell Phone: (757)-635-2362. 6) Bid proposals must be submitted no later than 12:00 noon EST on Wednesday 31 March, 2004. 7) The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible bidder whose quote, conforming to the solicitation, provides the lowest price. 8) This Solicitation incorporates the applicable FAR clauses for a Commercial Acquisition in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures.Also, the following DFAR clauses and standards apply to this solicitation anno uncement: 211.274 ?
