Description
The Naval Air Systems Command Aircraft Division (NAVAIR AD) at Patuxent River, MD has a COMPETITIVE requirement for a T56-A-15 engine with a ?423 reduction gearbox (RGB) assembled and tested in a Quick Engine Change Kit Assembly (QECA) configuration. This effort consists of providing a package with an overhauled T56-A-15 configuration power section with a new turbine module (all new blades, vanes, wheels and spacers) and an overhauled torque meter assembly. The Naval Air Systems Command will supply, as government furnished equipment, a ?423 series Reduction Gear Box assembly overhauled, preserved and canned in an RFI status. The Naval Air Systems Command will also supply a nacelle lower pan assembly (QEC ?belly? pan) already modified for the dual generator configuration. The selected vendor will depreserve and confirm Ready for Issue (RFI) integrity of the gearbox. The vendor will inspect the nacelle lower pan and return to a RFI condition the components of the pan as necessary prior to assembly into a QEC. Inspections and procedures will be in accordance with 2J-T56-101CL-1, T.O. 1C-130H-10 and T.O. 2J-T56-53 or equivalent data as accepted by the US Navy. The two generators, one 40/50KVA and one 60/90KVA, and the wiring associated with the 60/90KVA generator will be provided by and installed by the customer after delivery. The selected vendor shall install the wiring necessary to support the 40/50KVA generator. All other engine accessories and components will be provided by the vendor in an overhauled condition. The completed QECA will be tested as a complete assembly (less generators) and run on an engine test stand. A minimum engine efficiency of 100% is required for acceptance. The fully preserved QEC shall be delivered in place at vendor facility. The customer will coordinate and provide shipping from the vendor to NAS Patuxent River, MD. The QECA Package shall be warranted for 2000 hours or two years after engine installation. The applicable NAICS code is 336412 and the applicable FSC code is 2840. Interested parties should submit requests for a copy of the Request For Proposal (RFP) for this requirement no later than 2 April 2004 via email to Ben Hansford at benjamin.hansford@navy.mil.
