- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Services (NOS), National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS), Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research (CCEHBR), Charleston, South Carolina has a requirement for the analysis of benthic macrofauna and sediment properties in samples of estuarine and near-coastal marine sediments from various U.S. coastal regions. The work is intended to support environmental monitoring and assessment needs of multiple studies conducted by NCCOS. The primary objectives of these studies are to assess status and trends in the quality of the Nation’s coastal resources and to determine natural or anthropogenic factors. The work is to be performed under an indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-unit prices, provided on a per-sample basis for the various types of analyses. It is expected that the Contractor will be providing support on multiple projects under the contract, with each new project being conducted under a separate Task Order. The period of performance will include one base period (commencing with contract award and ending December 31, 2004) and up to four additional 12-month option periods within which analyses can be order. A final report on results of each project (Task Order) is expected within 12 months of the start of the corresponding project (signified by the receipt of samples and a signed Task Order). Thus, the period of performance could extend to one year beyond the end of the initial base period or any subsequent option period. The solicitation will be issued on or around April 9, 2004. This requirement is set-aside for small business. NAICS code 541380 applies. Firms that have the ability to provide the services listed in this announcement are invited to request a copy of the solicitation. All requests must be in writing and can be faxed to 816-426-7530. Receipt of a facsimile by the Government is the responsibility of the sender. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. The Central Administrative Support Center, Acquisition Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
