Description
The purpose of the BCS3 conference is to meet with interested parties wishing to discuss/explore the efforts required to stimulate BCS3 in future federated training exercises in both High Level Architecture (HLA) as well as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) within Training Exercise and Military Operation (TEMO) domains. The focus of this conference is primarily technical in nature. Attendees should be extremely knowledgeable in the areas of simulation architectures and behaviors and be willing to participate in open forum question and answer sessions. We anticipate that these discussions will produce viable solutions for BCS3 in both HLA and DIS. Currently, we are planning to use some form of BCS3 stimulation in a Warfighter or Mission Rehearsal training exercise scheduled for November of 2004. As such, the BCS3 conference will focus on: 1) Providing a thorough description of the functional and technical aspects of BCS3 (provided by a PM BCS3 representative) in sufficient detail to allow prospective stimulation developers to clearly understand the full range of requirements to stimulate BCS3. These details will include, at a minimum: input data formats, specifics of the fields in these formats, description of the flow of information, the medium of the flow and other update information and means to view the data as information, 2) Discussing and developing a decision matrix that can be used to determine which stimulation approach best satisfies the requirements, and 4) Discussing and refining future developmental timelines to support initial use at the November exercise. To attend the conference, please contact Mr. Ralph L. Poole, Logistics Exercise & Simulation Directorate (LESD) of the National Simulation Center (NSC), at telephone number 804-765-1547 (DSN: 539); or e-mail at ralph.l.poole@lee.army.mil. Your request and names of representatives must be submitted to Mr. Poole not later than 22, March 2004. The Conference will be held on 30 March 2004, from 0830 until 1700 hours in Bldg 1109 (the blockhouse) on Fort Lee, Virginia. Additional information regarding security issues will be provided to you when you contact Mr. Poole.
