Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a modification to contract N00024-97-C-6429 with Northrop Grumman Information Technology Inc., Defense Mission Systems Division, 12005 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191, to extend the period of performance of the contract for six months. Contract N00024-97-C-6429 is for Automated Information System (AIS) Support at the Aegis Combat Systems Center (ACSC) at Wa llops Island, VA. The period of performance extension is necessary due to the delay in the Assumption of Responsibility (AoR) of, and the cutover to, the Navy Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI) at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC), Wallops Island, VA. Contract N00024-97-C-6429 provides critical information technology support to SCSC and the period of performance extension will allow these services to continue uninterrupted until the AoR of, and cutover to, NMCI. The Naval Sea Systems Command does not intend to solicit or award another contract for these efforts after the cutover to NMCI at SCSC Wallops Island. This contract modification will be awarded pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. See Numbered Note 22.
