Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. This is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 and Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5 ? Test Program for Certain Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Reques t for Quote (RFQ) number is N00178-04-Q-1050. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used. The Government intends to purchase training over the course of 12 months: it is estimated the following courses will be required. The number of seats and expected number of days per course that will be required are further identified below. Two seats are required at each session: the total number of seats required are shown in parenthisis following the course title. CompTIA Courses: Network+ (4 seats). Books for 5 days for 2 seats required (remaining two seats will share), Security+ (4 seats). Books for 5 days for 2 seats required (remaining two seats will share), Microsoft 2000 Courses: ?Windows 2000 Network and Operating Systems Essentials? (10 seats) Books for 3 days for 2 seats required (remaining eight seats will share), ?Implementing Windows 2000 professional and Server? (6 seats) Books for 5 days for two seats required (remaining four seats will share). ?Implementing a Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure? (4 seats) Books for 5 days for two seats (remaining two seats will share). ?Implementing and Administering Windows 2000 Directory Services? (4 seats) Books for 5 days for two seats (remaining two seats will share), ?Implementing and Managing Exchange 2000? (2 seats) Books for 5 days one seat (remaining seat will share). ?Designing a Secure Windows 2000 Network? (2 seats) Books for 5 days one seat (remaining seat will share). ?Designing Security for Microsoft Networks? (2 seats) Books for 3 days one seat (remaining seat will share). CISCO Courses: Training for Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND) (4 seats) Books for 5 days for two seats (remaining two seats will share). The training site must be geographically available wit hin no more than ninety minutes one-way driving time from each of our two site: The two sites are located in Dahlgren VA and Norfolk, VA. Students must have the option to repeat a class at no additional charge within six months of their original attendance. The contractor performing the training must be a Microsoft Certified Technical Education Center (CTEC), indicating Microsoft Corporation's approval of their training. Microsoft technical courses must be taught by Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) using Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) to ensure high quality. Training must be offered both during the day and in the evening to accommodate our personnel that are watch standers. Day and evening sessions are required to accommodate shift workers. Day classes shall start between 0700-0900 and evening classes shall start between 1700-1900. The contractor must be financi ally sound and able to execute training for at least a one year period. The NAICS Code is 611710 with a size standard of $6 million. The contract shall be firm fixed priced. All interested parties shall indicate their interest and capabilities with their quote faxed to (540) 653-7088 or e-mailed to XDS11@nswc.navy.mil , which shall be considered by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-8400. This procurement is DO priority rated. Anticipated award by 1 April 2004.
