Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, Alaska Science Center intends to make a sole source award to Microwave Telemetry, Inc., 8835 Columbia 100 Pkwy, Suites K&L, Columbia, Maryland 21045, for 10 ea, Satellite Transmitters, PTT 100 implantables for Birds (adult common eiders). Item Description: 42 gm satellite transmitter in a hermetically sealed casing, 750-hour transmission, these transmitters are to be deployed as implanted transmitters. Transmitter Specifications: quantity: 10 ea; Weight: <42g including container, battery, transmitter, and antenna; Size: encapsulated unit excluding antenna should be <16 mm deep, <55 mm in length, and <35 mm wide; Life: 750 hours; Range: Sufficient power to transmit to satellites when implanted in the duck; Antenna: Diameter of multi-strand twisted stainless steel wire = 0.50 mm; Container: the package must be waterproof with no sharp edges and the package will be coated with a biologically inert material; Output: 1. Signals will be transmitted at 60 + 5 sec, USGS to provide on/off times, 2. Each transmitter will need an on/off switch, 3. Sensor Data: a. Temperature of transmitter (body temperature of bird), b. remaining battery potential, c. Formatted for 24-bit (8,8,2,6) hexadecimal processing, d. activity sensor; Power output: 22dBm +/ 2dB; Supply voltage: 3.6-4 volts; Frequencies: IDs will be provided by USGS as provided to them by ARGOS; Pulse rates: 60 + 5 sec; Operating temperature: -15 to 45 Deg C; Operating frequency: 401.650 MHz +/- 36 KHz; Quiescent current: <3 uA; Output impedance: 50 ohms. Delivery date: 25 July 2004. This notice is for informational purposes only. This is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested vendors may identify their interest and capability to respond within ten days of this announcement. A determination not to continue with this acquisition based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
