Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)intends to award a single source contract in accordance with FAA AMS 3.2.2.4.1.2 to Mitretek Systems, Inc. for current and future requirements of the Office of Competitive Sourcing Acquisitions (ACA). It has been determined that it is in the best interest of the Government to continue to acquire these services from this contractor on a single source basis. A contract for one year with a one year option is planned. The estimated contract value is $1.1M. Mitretek Systems, Inc. will continue to provide critical support services to the FAA. The services include development of cost models and schedules that meet the requirements of the Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS) procurement. Mitretek, with its unique understanding of FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) and FAA pricing structures has been selected to assist the ACA. FTI is a critical part of the AFSS operations, equating to approximately $26M in annual costs to the AFSSs. Due to this critical interdependency between the FTI and the AFSS A-76 programs, the FAA has utilized the FTI support vehicle during the past seven months. During this period, Mitrtek has provided support in the establishment of cost models and schedules designed to best capture the pricing issues of the AFSS Competitive Sourcing Program. Mitretek, through its participation in the current AFSS A-76 effort, combined with its intimate knowledge of FAA’s Telecommunication Infrastructure (FTI) pricing structures [a fundamental piece of the AFSS services], developed by them, under separate contract, brings unique experience to the AFSS Competitive Sourcing Program, which can not be severed during the onset of the critical cost activity phases of the AFSS effort. This critical program support can only be provided through the continuation of the services currently being provided by Mitretek. Therefore, the FAA intends to award a single source contract to Mitretek Systems inc. for continued support to ACA. Inquires may be submitted to the FAA, Attention Donald King, ASU-350, 800 Independence Ave, S.W. Washington D.C. 20591.
