- Description
- The U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), Pittsburgh, PA intends to award a fixed priced purchase order to Bartels and Stout Inc., Bellevue, WA to purchase the following:    (1)    Anton Parr (Parr Physica) Ultra Microhardness Tester, Model MHT 10 Vickers, complete, Item No. 11563568 and (2)    VCR-Plug-in Unit for Item #1 - Item No. #11563572.    This unit will b e incorporated into an existing, governmet-owned Metallographic Microscope System supplied previously be Bartels and Stout and requires the sharing of a number of existing system resources.    This is the only commercially available unit that provides the compatibility, precision, and light loads required by the Albany Research Center (ARC) funded research. Bartels and Stout is uniquiely qualified to provide on-site installation and interfacing, training, as well as rapid support when/if needed. Specifically, the Anton Parr Micorhardness tester specified is unique in that is attaches directly to the Leica DMRHC Materials microscope at ARC.    It is also unique in the range of sensitivity that it offers.    Very light loads of 0.05 grams for thin or soft materials and up to 200 grams for harder materials.    This request is considered to be sole sourced to Bartels and Stout Inc.    Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement.    This award shall be made using simplified acquisition procedures.    Interested parties must submit a capabilities statement describing their ability to meet all requirements.
