- Description
- The U.S. Army RDECOM-ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identify and qualify potential source(s) for supplying the U.S. Army with an Anti-Materiel Sniper Rifle. All sources of any type of rifle which is effective against hardened material targets please respond. The rifle should have a minimum effective range of 1200-1500 meters. The ammunition should contain a fuzed, explosive warhead. A man portable, prone shoulder fired weapon is desired. Rifle action can be single shot of any type, magazine fed bolt action, or semi automatic. System weight (less ammunition) should not exceed approximately 15 kg if a single unit, or 30 kg if it can be carried in two parts. Vendors please give the production status of the proposed weapon. Vendors please provide price and availability information on available weapons and ammunition if possible (small quantities). Vendors are requested to provide current catalog information regarding the rifle’s overall performance and safety approvals (rifle and ammunition) in place. Please provide this information by no later than 5 March 2004 to the technical point of contact (POC), Mr. Richard A. Jolliffe. This Market Survey is for planning purpose only and should not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the U.S. This notice does not constitute an invitation for Bids or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it is not a commitment by the government to procure subject material. No solicitation document exists at this time. The government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information alone or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
