Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for nine (9) semiconductor grade NFPA approved gas cabinets for containing toxic and pyrophoric gases for the future Advanced Measurement Laboratory Nanofabrication Facility. NIST intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Matheson Tri-Gas, 166 Keystone Drive, Montgomeryville, PA 18936 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). NIST currently has three (3) qualified Matheson Tri-Gas cabinets and purge systems which will be moved to the new facility. Compatibility is required to allow the new gas cabinets and monitoring system to be interfaced directly with the existing cabinets and purge systems without modifications or adaptations. Having identical cabinets will allow personnel to have one working infrastructure for gas containments and gas monitoring. This is critical in providing a simple, understandable, and robust safety mechanism for the control and monitoring of dangerous and hazardous gases. The proposed purchase will include the following line items and quantities: (1) 1CE200 x 1CE Source System for SiH4 (2 each), (2) 2CE Source Systems for SiH2C12, C12, NH3 (3 each), (3) 3CE Source System for SF6 and BC13 (1 each), (4) 3CE Source System for C4F8 and CHF3 (3 each), plus sensors, indicator units, system chassis, central alarm unit, power supply strobe stack, tubing, duct adaptors, and mounting brackets. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price (FFP) purchase order on or about February 25, 2004. The proposed requirement is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) package is not available.
