- Description
- The Navy requires a dedicated vessel for relocating government cable from the Integrated Cable Systems facility in Newington, New Hampshire to an overseas location. The effort requires a deep-ocean capable transport vessel, which for purposes herein shall be construed as a ship or a tug-and-barge arrangement. The contract transport vessel is required to be equipped with cable storage facilities. These facilities can be existing and inherent in the vessel, or they can be fabricated on the vessel as part of this contract. The vessel shall be of US or NATO registry. The Crew must be US citizens. One crewmember must have an active SECRET clearance. The vessel will be required to make a voyage of approximately 12,000 nautical miles. Final destination will be provided to successful offeror after award. The voyage will begin in May 2004 and will include loading, transport, and off-loading of cable. Return of the transport vessel to the U.S. will be at a mutually agreed upon location.
