Description
The U.S. Army ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal, is conducting a market survey intended to identify companies with a capability in Computer Modeling and Simulation (M&S) to develop a Government owned computer program that will dynamically and accurately model and simulate the impact and progression of various high-speed ballistic projectiles into and through standardized ballistic gel block. Potential offers shall possess the capability to compile, analyze and convert the data obtained from Government material and ballistic testing into a usable format for the Ls-Dyna Code. Additionally, the software will be required to convert Parametric Models into Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for meshing and create target plates and gelatin blocks based on Government provided data and importation into F&A package ANSYS. Potential offers with experience in Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) methods for soft-body impact modeling are encouraged to respond to this notice. As part of this effort, the potential offers will need the capability to develop an automated ALE Model Builder for ANSYS to greatly simplify and speed up mesh generation. Where compatible, the generated single-material ALE models will run and the corresponding meshes will be refined until the solution converges. This effort will require experience in Johnson-Cook, Bamman and/or other models available in LS-Dyna to allow regression fitting of simulations to test data. This effort shall be in support of the US Army. Any interested sources are requested to provide Capability Statements with respect to the requirements capabilities listed below. Include your company name, complete address, telephone number and technical point(s) of contact. The requirements include: A) qualified personnel with experience in Ls- Dyna, ANSYS, FEA and ALE methods for soft body impact modeling. B) Demonstrated ability and experience in the development of task specific programs in Ls-DYNA. C) Demonstrated ability to compile, analyze and convert test data into a usable format for the Ls-Dyna Code. D) In-depth understanding of DOD software requirements, and E) a successful track record of contract performance in satisfying these requirements (i.e. previous contracts held with the Government or otherwise). This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). There is no Solicitation available at this time. The sole purpose of this notice is to seek potential offerors with capabilities as described above to fulfill the aforementioned requirements. Capability Statements should be sent in MS Office format and be less than 20 pages. Interested parties may submit questions relating to this requirement to TACOM-Picatinny, The Picatinny Center for Contracting & Commerce (PC3), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, 07806-5000, Attn: Ms. Teresa Leap, AMSTA-AQ-APF, (973-724-4672), email < tleap@pica.army.mil >. Electronic submittals are preferred. All information collected from this Market Survey shall be used for PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. This Market Survey does not award a contract on the basis of this Survey and will not pay for any of the information collected. It is requested that all Proprietary Data/Information be identified in your submittal. The Government retains the right not to complete this requirement based on responses to this notice. It is also the Government?s intent to limit this effort to the U.S. and Canada. See Numbered Note 25
