- Description
- Vessel Required: U.S. or Foreign Flag self sustaining Ro/Ro Container combination vessel with gear and straight stern ramp with minimum overhead clearance of 18 feet and 18 feet vertical ramp opening, suitable for the carriage of the cargo described in Box 2. VESSEL MUST COME EQUIPPED WITH SUFFICIENT LASHING GEAR TO SECURE APPROX 73 VEHICLES, TRAILERS AND HELICOPTERS AND 55 TEUS DESCRIBED IN BOX 2. Minimum required speed 14 Knots laden in moderate weather. In accordance with the Cargo Preference Act of 1904 and Section IIIA.3 of the Voluntary Intermodal Sealift Agreement (VISA) (see 68 FEDERAL REGISTER 8800-8808, February 25, 2003), preference will be given to U.S. flag vessels and VISA participants. 2. Cargo Description: approximately 32K SQ FT/10,200 Mtons; 73 PCS and 55 Twenty foot containers (TEUs) (+/- 10% Chop) RFP is available for download on the MSC web page at www.msc.navy.mil, go to contracts, then to active solicitations.
