Description
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronic Systems of 65 Marcus Drive, Melville, NY 11747. The contract will provide for the production of three (3) AN/SPQ-9B Radar Systems in FY04 with options for a range of quantities of three (3), four (4) or five (5) in FY05; two (2), three (3), or four (4) in FY06; four (4), five (5), or six (6) in FY 07, and six (6), seven (7) or eight (8) in FY08. The contract will also include a related Transmitter Cabinet Upgrade, installation material, ancillary equipment, provisioning items, administrative data, technical data and provisioning technical data. In addition, the contract will include eight (8) AN/SPQ-9B Radar System Below Deck ORDALT equipment kits for the Transmitter Cabinet, with an option for eleven additional units, and finally options for up to four units in each of FY05, 06, 07, and 08 of AN/SPQ-9B Radar Systems Above Deck ORDALT equipment kits for the Antenna Group. Northrop Grumman Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and the sole producer of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System. Therefore, no other firm possesses the technical expertise necessary to perform the work that will be required by the Government. The contract will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). This synopsis is for informational purposes only, for the benefit of potential subcontractors. The government intends to solicit and negotiate only with the source identified herein.
