- Synopsis for 17-20 February 2004 Modular Intermodal Platform (MIP) Quality Function Deployment (QFD) A meeting will be sponsored by LRED and DCD-CSS in the Fort Lee, VA vicinity on 17 to 20 February. This QFD will be facilitated by Boeing Decision Analysis, St. Louis. The purpose of this meeting is to refine and prioritize requirements for the MIP program. If you would like to attend this meeting, please send an email to Will Frey of DCD-CSS will.frey@us.army.mil or Doug Chesnulovitch, Suzette Burnette aburnett@pica.army.mil. The purpose of your attending is to gain information regarding the QFD process and market research and your participation. Five contractors have been selected for the Phase I MIP effort based on past experience and expertise demonstrated in past intermodal work (EDS-A design and prototype fabrication phases). These five contractors will be: SEI SeaBox Boeing Raytheon CMCI a)Phase I of the MIP effort will be awarded in the March 2004 timeframe. In phase I contractors will develop designs and present them in a review process in the July/August timeframe. After this review, contractors will be given additional time to finalize their designs and present them for down select to Phase II in the August 2004 timeframe. Phase I will consist of development of concepts based on requirements drawn from the MIP QFD. b)Phase II of the MIP effort will begin in the August 2004 timeframe. Proposals will be solicited in the August and September timeframe and awards will be made in the October timeframe. The Phase II MIP effort will consist of fabrication of prototype hardware for engineering and developmental tests. //
