Description
The Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA) intends to issue a sole source purchase order, using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to American Science and Engineering, Inc. (AS&E) to provide maintenance services for twenty-four (24) AS&E MICRO-DOSE model 66Z X-Ray Systems designated at United States Attorneys Offices within the United States. AS&E has extensive knowledge in the development of the highly complex electro-mechanical systems and operations by the training and authorization of their service personnel. AS&E Field Service Engineers (FSE) have displayed their ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve complex system problems. AS&E FSE?S are continually retrained on the existing systems, new products, and system development. AS&E systems contain high voltage, therefore, their personnel is properly trained in servicing AS&E systems, to avoid damage to the systems, cause personal injury and even death. It is vital that these X-Ray Systems remain operational at all times at designated U. S. Attorney Offices. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals nor will a formal solicitation be issued. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes/proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
