Description

The U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC) intends to issue a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) to support the acquisition of materiel that allows military personnel to continue a mission while under the threat of chemical or biological a ttack. It is anticipated that the BAA will be issued on or about 11 February 2004. The BAA reflects the ECBC's technical base program. In accordance with FAR 6.102(d)(2), the BAA seeks unique and innovative concepts for competitive selection of basic an d applied research and that part of development not related to the development of a specific system or hardware procurement. Research efforts related to specific systems or hardware development will not be considered except to demonstrate a concept. Area s of interest include: biotechnology; aerosol technology; biological point detection; chemical point detection; early warning and detection; smoke/obscurant munitions; modeling, simulation and analysis for CB, smoke and obscurants; collective protection te chnology; respiratory protection technology; decontamination; biological and chemical countermeasures to terrorism; and, flame and incendiary technology. The BAA will be open continuously with periodic updates if needed. When issued, BAA ECBC-04 will be posted on the following web site: http://www.ecbc.army.mil/about/baa.htm.
