- Description
- The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Program Support Center Acquisitions Branch knows of only a single source capable of accomplishing this requirement and intends to award an eleven (11) month simplified acquisition for the Division of Immigration Health Services (DIHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to the Kalos Inc., 3518-B Southeast 21 Street, Topeka, KS 66607. DIHS requires software maintenance and medispan drug interface database subscription to include telephone support service (helpdesk), periodic system updates, and access to a drug interaction database to ensure continued and effective use of its Correctional Institutional Pharmacy System (CIPS). The CIPS is operated at the following nine DIHS medical facilities: Buffalo, El Centro, El Paso, Elizabeth, Florence, Krome, Port Isabel, San Diego, and San Pedro. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The Kalos Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the CIPS and the only company that can provide the services. It is critical to the missions of HHS agencies that services continue uninterrupted. Interested parties capable of providing this requirement may submit a capability statement addressing their ability to update and maintain the type of information DIHS requires. Responses are due within 15 days of the publication of this synopsis. Responses shall be reviewed solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition following consideration of responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. All submissions are to be sent to Sophia S. Janus at the address above, referencing 04H000010.
