Description
The Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Prime/Vendor (PV) program is hosting site visits at Tinker and Hill Air Force Bases on 27 and 29 January 2004, respectively, in support of industry involvement and in preparation for issuing a formal request for proposals. Industry representatives interested in participating in the site visit should contact the contracting officer, Douglas Pugh, Douglas.Pugh@robins.af.mil, phone 478-926-7393, or fax 478-926-3590 and submit on company letterhead the name(s) of those expected to participate. E-mail response with a scanned copy of the request is preferred, but fax will be accepted. Regular mail is discouraged but will also be accepted. Requests to attend the site visits must be received by the contracting officer on or before 4:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time, 13 January 2004. Requests received after that time will be rejected. Industry teams will be limited in size to three (3) and may include subcontractors within that number. Verification of attendance, specific meeting locations and an agenda will be provided once the response date has passed. The HAZMAT PV program encompasses complete logistics support of hazardous material activities at Air Force Materiel Command?s three Air Logistics Center bases to include demand-based forecasting, procurement, transportation, storage, inventory control, and management operations. Initial support is anticipated to be to the Maintenance activities at the Air Logistics Centers with the opportunity to expand to tenant activities at those bases. The following program information is provided as a guide for relevant past-performance and as an aid in determining participation and team composition, * Hazardous materials supply chain management including demand-based forecasting, procurement, transportation, storage, inventory control, and management operations; * Support of industrial operations for three geographically dispersed locations with an estimated average of 10 to 20 points of use per location; * Issues of approximately 30,000 per year ranging between 5000 and 19,000 issues per location; * Management of a comprehensive range of hazardous materials (see tables I and II of FED-STD-313D); * Demonstrated compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations; and * Demonstrated ability to interface with Air Force/Department of Defense supply management systems (desired). Program information is and will continue to be posted to this page for industry information and comment. Industry participation in this workshop is voluntary. The Government does not intend to provide reimbursement for the time and expense of industry participation in this program or for the information obtained during the site visit. The Government requires unrestricted use of any information resulting from the site visit. Industry representatives are hereby on notice that access to Tinker and/or Hill Air Force Bases may be restricted at any time based on findings of background checks or changes in Force Protection Condition requirements.
