- Description
- The Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation (DAIT), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) intends to negotiate for a multiple-year contract with Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD) under the Authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), Unique Capabilities. Inherent duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in completing the project make competitive unfeasible for this requirement. PPD has provided statistical, data management, and safety monitoring support for the DAIT?s Immune Tolerance Network (ITN) under a subcontracting agreement with the EMMES Corporation under contract number N01-AI-95382. The proposed contract will permit PPD to continue providing statistical, data management and safety monitoring support for the Immune Tolerance Network (ITN). Interruption of these activities will lead to complete paralysis of clinical data collection and processing, analysis of results, development of further scientific concepts and publication. Therefore, DAIT has determined PPD is the only source to satisfy agency requirements to avoid unacceptable delays in developing and initiating new immune tolerance studies. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and must respond by submitting the information on/before the closing date noted in this announcement. Organizations that submit capability statements in response to this announcement must demonstrate their ability to assume the work without unnecessary delay and duplication of cost and effort. See Government-Wide Numbered Notes 22. No collect calls will be accepted.
